ACTIVITIES

Over a period of 42 months V2WORK will develop and implement a series of activities geared towards Analysis, Training, Employability & Entrepreneurship and Networking, in order to support Vietnamese HEIs to improve the employability & entrepreneurship skills of their graduates, and to reinforce their relationships with the labour market.

ANALYSIS

Study Visits by Vietnamese partners to EU partner institutions.

Identification of good practices and development needs related to HEI student and graduate employability and entrepreneurship, as well as the situation of Career Centres in Vietnamese HEIs. Two reports (with the analysis and benchmarking results) will be published and available for download on the project website.

TRAINING

5 Training of Trainers Modules for partners’ career centre staff.
- Module 1 “Engagement in Employability: Building and Leveraging Partnerships for Success” from 2-4 July, 2018, in Nha Trang, hosted by Nha Trang University.
- Module 2 “Labour Market Analysis: Work & Employability” from 16-18 October, 2018, in Vinh City, hosted by Industrial University of Vinh.
- Module 3 “Enterprise, Entrepreneurship & Marketing Skills” from 27-29 November, 2019, in Danang, hosted by the University of Danang.
- Module 4 “Job Preparation Training and Internships” from 14-16 January, 2019, in Bon Ma Thuot, hosted by Tay Nguyen University.
- Module 5 “Tools for Engagement Through Career Centres” from 3-5 April, 2019, in Tra Vinh, hosted by Tra Vinh University.

Internal Training Sessions for additional career centre and related staff, to further share the knowledge and skills received in the ToTs, delivered by V2WORK partners in each of their universities. Open to participation by interested staff from neighbouring universities. Organised in the month following the corresponding ToT.

Online Courses for Vietnamese HEI students and graduates, related to the development of employability, employment or entrepreneurship skills, delivered by V2WORK Career Centres in the academic year 2019-2020.

LAUNCHING NEW SERVICES

Career Centres in Vietnam will be modernised or created in the partner HEIs, fully equipped and with the support of their institutions. With this foundational basis, the training received in the first half of the project, and with the support of the EU partners, each partner Career Centre will launch a series of new services to support their students and graduates in developing their employment, employability or entrepreneurship skills. These new services will be accompanied by the organisation of an Enterprising Ideas Competition at each university, and two Careers Days in the second half of the project.

NETWORKING ACTIONS

V2WORK partners will develop a series of networking actions throughout the project, in order to fully support other project activities, and to further develop and strengthen the relationship of the partner universities with the labour market, as well as provide policy recommendations. These will include:

Regular Business Brunches between career centre staff, professors and representatives of the labour market, to discuss employability of their graduates and identify potential mismatches.
An Employment & Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Forum (Summer 2019) at each partner HEI to stimulate dialogue and debate at the level of the corresponding province on graduate employment and entrepreneurship and generate local strategies to improve the current situation.
A National Conference on Graduate Employment & Entrepreneurship (October 2019) in Ho Chi Minh City to take this dialogue to the national level and provide policy recommendations.
A National Enterprising Ideas Competition, held during the national conference, to allow to showcase and support the innovative business ideas of Vietnam’s university students.
A Final Conference (March 2021) in Hanoi, to promote the project results and the role of Career Centres in Vietnamese universities, and to effectively launch the
V2WORK Network of HEI Career Centres which will support HEIs in Vietnam to create or further develop their Career Centres after the project’s end, so that they may become a strong united voice in the national debate on graduate employment and entrepreneurship.
